Weddings are fun — especially when you're attending as a guest. You get all the perks of the "I do's" without worrying about any of the planning. But if you don't know anyone else attending the celebration, the situation can be a bit daunting. Not to worry: making a good first impression is not as hard as it seems. Here are our five rules on how you can be the best wedding guest ever.
1. Bring your style A-game.
Elegance and class are vital, but functionality is key as it's a marathon day with a lot of dancing involved. White is an obvious color to avoid (that's reserved for the bride) and you should definitely stay within the confines of the theme if there is one. But, you also want to make sure you feel good about your outfit — confidence is essential.
2. Don't be afraid to mingle!
It can be a bit uncomfortable to be at a wedding where everyone is a stranger, but remember: You're all there because you mean something to the bride and groom so you already have at least one thing in common. Be sure to smile and spark up a convo with your table mates. Ask them how they know the couple and go from there. Easy, right?

3. Hit the dance floor.
This will be one of the best parties you will ever attend, so dancing is obviously mandatory. Even if you don't have moves like Beyoncé (who does really?), be sure to get on your feet and let loose.
4. Show restraint when it comes to drinking.
Open bar seems amazing, but it can quickly turn bad if you do not pace yourself. If you're going to imbibe, make sure you do it in moderation. Hydrate before the reception kicks into high gear and continue to drink glasses of water in between cocktails to keep yourself together. After all, you don't want to be that person.
5. Have fun!
The wedding took the bride and groom months of planning and cost a pretty penny, so celebrating is a prerequisite. Let your guard down and make it a night to remember.
