Is there a holiday movie that you return to year after year? Here are eight of our favorites and what they might say about your love and relationship style:
Love Actually: True love, lost love, unrequited love, broken love, and all the shades of love in between—it's all there in this epic holiday flick. If you love this film, it's likely that you appreciate love in all of its forms and perhaps even recognize that your relationship, as is true of many of ours, is a work-in-progress, a journey, and an adventure. (P.S. We happen to adore this movie, here's why.)
White Christmas: You are traditional and romantic—and your wedding probably was, too! And, likely, if your husband were to suggest a quiet ski trip to Vermont for the holidays, you'd be all in!
A Christmas Story: The leg lamp! The tongue frozen to the pole! You're a non-traditionalist and your idea of a perfect December night is laughing (perhaps with a hot buttered rum) with your man.
It's a Wonderful Life: Themes of forgiveness, family and togetherness run deep in this beloved holiday movie, and if you find yourself returning to Jimmy Stuart and Co. year after year, it's likely you believe in forgiveness too, whether it's your husband in need of the forgiving or even yourself.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: If old-school classics like Rudolph or Frosty the Snowman appeal to you year after year, it's likely you have family on the brain. A baby by fall? Be warned: We think maybe.
Serendipity: Wintery, snowy New York City. Need we say more? If you love this movie, it's a given that you are a romantic at heart, but even more, you believe in fate and the beauty of chance. You're the type of gal who'd write "I love you" in the snow before your husband leaves for work in the morning.
Holiday Inn: The Irving Berlin music! The sleigh in the snow! Bing Crosby crooning beside an open fire! If Holiday Inn is your go-to seasonal movie, comfort, tradition and security are key for you.
Elf: Who doesn't love Will Ferrell, the 6'3'' adult elf? It's hard not to laugh out loud while watching this off-beat holiday movie, and if you return to it year after year, you're probably not the kind of girl who hangs up mistletoe or partakes in old-fashioned traditions (fruit cake? No thank you.) But would you and your husband host a holiday karaoke party with Santa-shaped sushi? Oh yeah!
