It's no surprise that we love a stylish white dress. Whether a bride is dressed in one on her wedding day, a designer is sending one down the runway at Bridal Fashion Week, or a celebrity is rocking one on the red carpet, a white dress is a classic, fresh, and chic blank slate for accessories. Plus, the hue is ripe with possibilities for new interpretations—we think it should be every celebrity's go-to color! This week, we scoured the Internet for the best ivory, cream, and eggshell gowns to bring you these stunning, wedding-worthy looks.
Michelle Obama in J. Mendel at TNT's "Christmas in Washington"
Who better to model your wedding day style after than our very own First Lady? Two children, a strong 20-year marriage, and a fresh sense style that still feels sophisticated—sounds like every bride's dream! Obama actually recycled this embroidered J. Mendel coat for the event on Sunday. She first wore the crepe jacket to the pre-Olympics opening ceremony reception at Buckingham Palace in July 2012. Seen here over a pleated, knee-length skirt, we can say she made a wise choice re-wearing it. It's a classic, refreshing look that would be festive for a casual, city hall wedding.

Rooney Mara really loves white dresses, but out of her numerous cream-toned looks, this one is probably our favorite. The body-hugging cut is one we could see on a bride who wants to channel Jessica Biel or Kim Kardashian on her wedding day—totally skin-tight, but still with elegant. The ruffled one-shoulder sleeve (plus that dark lip!) is just haute couture enough for a woman who wants to make a high-fashion, glamorous statement on her wedding day.

Whether or not Perry and John Mayer get engaged soon, we'll still imagine this as a precursor to what's sure to be a knockout wedding dress for the pop singer. It's the kind of look that would only work for a thoroughly unique bride getting married at an unconventional venue, but something about the cutout long sleeves, asymmetrical hem, and gold embroidery feel regally wedding-worthy. We also want to give props to her for that braid. It's one of our favorite wedding hairstyles!
