After final fittings last Wednesday in Los Angeles, Drew Barrymore's custom Chanel wedding dress made its debut Saturday when the star wed art consultant Will Kopelman—who, not so coincidentally, is the son of former Chanel exec Arie Kopelman. A source described Barrymore's couture gown to Us Weekly as "a long white dress in pleated muslin and organza," which was "embroidered with flowers in organza, muslin, tulle, and feathers" and featured "a black satin belt" at the waist.

Looking to Chanel's recent runways, pleated organza featured prominently in designer Karl Lagerfeld's Fall 2012 ready-to-wear and Spring 2013 couture collections, mostly as delicate, sheer tops over beaded skirts. Muslin, on the other hand, is less typical as a fabric for important gowns, more often being used as a mockup material for draping and cutting patterns. Even in muslin, Barrymore's dress was adorned with special details, like the flowers and feathers that embellished many looks from Chanel's Fall 2011 couture show (above left, right), where the mood created a dark, film noir atmosphere.

Held at her Montecito, California estate, the mood at Barrymore's wedding, however, was likely more attune to Chanel's Resort 2013 show, where black-and-white ensembles (above center) dotted a lineup of edgy pastel numbers, any one of which might have been best friend Cameron Diaz's wedding guest look. In true Coco style, Barrymore also added a black tweed jacket to her dress for the reception, in addition to the Chanel Fine Jewelry she wore throughout the day.
