Ashley Biden's Vera Wang Wedding Dress (PHOTO)

Wearing a custom Vera Wang ivory silk mermaid gown, Vice President Joe Biden's daughter Ashley tied the knot this weekend at her childhood church in Greenville, Delaware, St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church. The bride's gown featured a hand-cut circular organza petal skirt, trimmed with embroidered silk details. The V-neck neckline and illusion sleeves accentuated the bride's toned torso while the mermaid silhouette on mirrored many of fan favorites seen in Vera Wang's Spring 2013 collection. The bride's chapel length veil featured hand-appliqued Chantilly lace. Her groom, Philadelphia surgeon Howard Krein, looked dashing in a dark suit and purple tie.

According to People, 200 wedding guests joined the stylish couple at the Biden family's lakeside family home in nearby Wilmington for a family-style dinner. The Vice President, who was quoted in People as saying, "I kept telling Ash, we've got to open up the church and practice walking up and down the aisle so I can handle it," also issued a statement, together with his wife, saying, "We're happy to welcome Howard into our family, and we wish them all the best in their new life together."
