Yesterday, Italian designer Roberto Cavalli's Twitter account announced: "Today , Jenifer Lopez. Call me...... She ask me. To create a special dress. For her next weding. ! Wich color ... Do you advise me. ?" Although in an unusual moment of cyber-candor (and disregard for basic spelling and grammar), it seemed Cavalli was leaking the news of Lopez's engagement to dancer Casper Smart, a betrayal of sorts between the longtime friends.
Or was it?
"Here's the truth now: ROBERTO CAVALLI'S TWITTER ACCOUNT was hacked. The rumor is not true," Lopez wrote on her website. "I decided there needs to be a place (The J. Low), where you can get the truth. Using this site as my way to connect, I'll share the reality of my life right here, and make sure you never have to wonder about what is or isn't real. What I tell you is the truth, everything else is just talk. Thanks for supporting and always believing in me."
Tired of dominating tabloid headlines, the American Idol judge has certainly had enough experience playing out her relationships in public, first marrying Ojani Noa in 1997 (and divorcing a year later), then Cris Judd in 2001 (and divorcing eight months later), then becoming engaged to Ben Affleck in 2002 (for 18 famous months of "Bennifer"), and most recently marrying Marc Anthony in 2004 (a relationship that ended in 2011). So, if Lopez is indeed engaged for a fifth time—to Casper Smart or anyone else—expect to hear it straight from the source: Jennifer Lopez.
