Whether you want to wear a crop top and maxi skirt instead of a traditional wedding dress or walk down the aisle in a pair of hot pink heels, your bridal look should reflect your signature style. To help you achieve a wedding-day ensemble that is uniquely "you," we tapped the expert advice of Houghton designer Katharine Polk and Stone Fox Bride's creative director Molly Guy for four ways you can showcase your fashion sense for the momentous occasion.

Add an unexpected twist to your hair.
"Pick your hair and make-up artists carefully and make sure they listen to you and your style," advises Polk. She continues, "If your look is a red lip or a cat eye you should stay true to that and make sure they incorporate that into your wedding-day look. I personally think less is more and a natural face is the most beautiful. Try messy beach hair or cornrows for an unexpected twist."

Wear unpredictable accessories.
"I've had brides wear everything from sparkly red Christian Louboutin pumps to crazy studded silver shoes," says Guy. Polk also likes other accoutrements to show off your own personal flair. "If you are not a big fan of heels, then you should definitely wear flats. You can also add some accessories that speak to your style like a floppy hat or some statement jewelry."

Think outside the traditional wedding dress.
"If you want to step outside the box and wear a cocktail dress or separates, then do it," says Polk. She continues, "I think that your personality shines though when your most comfortable and I have plenty of brides that just don't want to wear a gown or a white dress. They feel most comfortable in a pants suit or a cape." Both she and Guy recommend going for a pale blue or even a light pink dress.

Don't stop with your look: Make your bridesmaids' ensembles extraordinary as well!
Guy's advice is to add in "pieces like vintage kimonos and flower crowns which are beautiful and romantic, yet speak to each individual woman." Polk loves the uncommon route of dressing each one of your bridesmaids differently and in all-white. "I love seeing an all white or ivory bridal party in different style looks. This is your chance to curate a look and aesthetic so you should have fun with it."
