The art of properly executing mismatched bridesmaid dresses is a tricky one. Some brides give their 'maids a color scheme and set them loose into the shopping world, while others choose a designer, length, and color, and ask their bridal party to choose different necklines. Whatever the method, having mix-and-match gowns is usually the best way to satisfy bridesmaids of all shapes and sizes. With so many brides going one of these routes, we wanted to see some real-life outcomes. We asked our Facebook fans to share photos of their 'maids, and here are our favorites:
1. Rays of light
With such a sun-dappled ceremony, bride Tara Ladd was wise to having her bridesmaids wear a variety of sherbet-colored dresses. The yellow, orange, grapefruit, and cream colors complement each other perfectly, making the different dress styles mesh beautifully.
3. One designer to rule them all
Bride Kate Leeson had all three of her bridesmaids choose different colors and styles by the same designer for her wedding. This way, each lady shows off her own personality while still wearing a very similar dress to the others.
3. 50 shades of blush pink
"I let the girls pick any dress in the pastel pink/taupe range and from any store, as well as any gold shoes they wanted," bride Hillary Mabardy wrote alongside this photo of her with her bridesmaids. This is proof that giving your girls free reign can be a great idea; keeping things to one color scheme ensures that even a lacy sundress and a more formal one-shouldered frock look good together.
