Blake Lively makes her red-carpet return with bombshell waves, while Elizabeth Olsen goes for a dramatic side part, and Olivia Palermo opts for beachy tresses. Here, the red-carpet beauty looks we loved this week.

Blake Lively at the New York premiere of The Age of Adaline: Want to give old-school waves a modern twist? Try Blake's take, which features a French braid on the side. It's both fashionable and functional, since it will help keep your hair out of your face. Another way Blake keeps this look fresh: Instead of pairing her hairstyle with siren-red lipstick and rosy blush, she went for a deep nude, highlighter on her cheekbones, and shimmery neutral eye shadow.

Elizabeth Olsen at the European premiere of The Avengers: Age of Ultron: Much like her chic, older sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley, Elizabeth typically favors understated hair and makeup. She made her style work for the red carpet by adding a deep side part to an undone, wispy chignon. (This style is also perfect for showing off a high, embellished neckline.) Worn with black liquid eyeliner, bronze eye shadow, and rose-tinted lips, her versatile beauty look would work in just about any setting.

Olivia Palermo at the AMNH Museum Dance: The style maven usually goes for perfectly polished hair, but she changed it up this time with center-parted, bohemian waves, complete with little braids. (Perhaps she was inspired by her beachy, seashell Valentino dress? In any case, if we were getting married on the beach, this is one look we'd wear head to toe.) Her signature makeup — glowing, seemingly airbrushed skin, brown eye makeup, bronzed cheeks, and nude lips — ensured she was still evening appropriate.
