The bridal shower is something the bride can look forward to next to the bachelorette party and wedding dress shopping. If you have a sister, you two have probably discussed bridal showers before you even started high school. So what happens when your future sister-in-law wants to call all the shots for this party? Here's how to gently say no without hurting anyone's feelings.
Take this as a major compliment — you're obviously well-liked by your guy's family! Your future sister-in-law is probably just excited about the wedding and wants to be a part of it as much as possible. While it may be a bit awkward letting her know that you'd prefer your sister to plan your bridal shower, it's something that needs to be addressed quickly. (You don't want her to start putting her plans in action!)
If you guys are close, plan a girls' day where you can let her that as much as you appreciate her super-kind gesture, your own sister has dreamed of planning your shower since you both were little.

However, make sure she knows that you would love if she'd help plan or be involved with setting the shower up with your sister — besides, two heads are better than one. This way she can still be a part of making the bridal shower a success.
If anything, you can ask her to plan another get together for all the girls to attend — maybe a spa day, a nice brunch, or a karaoke night. In this circumstance, there's no such thing as too many celebrations.
