Let's face it: A lot of things change once you tie the knot, including your friendships! It takes some work to make sure you maintain your place as one of the girls, but it's not that hard. Follow these steps to make sure your friendships stay the same before and after you get hitched — and thank us later.

Put a girls' night (or day) on your calendar every month.
Whether it's a weekend away or an afternoon of brunch and shopping, you must make time for your girlfriends as they make up your support system. And make sure not to cancel this time — it should be a fixture in your schedule and you all should treat it with extreme importance.

Sharing is caring.
All of your dating experiences are behind you, but that doesn't mean that they never happened. When your single friends commiserate about their bad dates or even their good ones, make sure that you're contributing to the conversation with moments from your past. They'll show them that finding "the one" is possible (you're living proof) and that at the very least, those dates have given you hilarious fodder long after they happened.

Be supportive and empathetic.
While you're growing accustomed to your new role as a wife, it's important to not forget that it isn't all about you. Make sure you're supporting your friends in all their endeavors and being empathetic to the frustration and confusion that sometimes come with dating. It wasn't too long ago when you were in their shoes.

Make sure your spouse knows all your friends and include him in some of your get-togethers.
You don't need to alienate your spouse or your friends for nights out. Get everyone together a few times a year and get all of your favorite people in the same room for maximum bonding.

Don't lose your fun side.
Make sure you're still the same exciting woman you were before and keep a little excitement and adventure — you can take some moments away from your husband to just let loose. Everyone needs that.
