The father-daughter dance is an incredibly meaningful, and invariably sweet, moment during every wedding reception. Traditionally, it signifies the transition between childhood and adulthood. It's also an important time for brides to thank their father for his love and support, and have some one-on-one time amidst the action-packed reception. With plenty of happy tears and a perhaps a rehearsed dance step or two, it can be hard to pick a song that perfectly explains the special relationship between a dad and his little girl.
Often, brides and their dads have a special song that holds a lot of memories for them, but other times, the song is simply a backdrop for the symbolic few minutes. To inspire those fathers and daughters looking for that special tune to play as they hit the dance floor, we curated a Spotify playlist of songs that capture the sentiment behind the moment.

We included time-honored classics, like Natalie Cole's incredible duet with her late father, Nat King Cole, to "Unforgettable." There's also Stevie Wonder's upbeat hit "Isn't She Lovely," which conveys the wonder a father has toward a brand-new child. More modern takes include Bruno Mars' "Just the Way You Are" and Amos Lee's "Sweet Pea."
Plug in, hit play, and try to imagine which one feels the most natural for you and your beloved pops. Even if you already have one, share the playlist with your dad to show him how much you love him!
