In Season Now: Seriously Stunning Dahlias

We've already professed our love for the romantic cafe au lait dahlia, but many other beautiful dahlia varieties are also at their peak in the summertime and early fall. The dahlia's symmetrical petals look striking and graphic—making them the perfect bloom for modern weddings—while their festive colors and wide variety of shapes also make them a great choice for more rustic and casual celebrations. To show you why dahlias are the perfect bloom for summertime weddings, we've gathered some of our most favorite dahlia arrangements.

Purple Dahlias Bouquet (above): Eye-catching bi-color dahlias are mixed with solid purple ones in this striking bouquet. To give the arrangement a more wild look, florist Bridget Reale of Violet & Verde also added ranunculuses, ferns, and jasmine.

Coral Bouquet with Dahlias: Pretty coral-colored blooms like dahlias, amaryllises, astilbe, and garden roses make such an elegant combination. This bouquet was created by Nature Composed.

Pink Dahlias Bouquet: We're loving the bright, cheerful colors of this beautiful bouquet by Kate Barker Florals.

White Dahlias Bouquet: If your wedding aesthetic veers toward classic, crisp white, then ask your florist to combine creamy white dahlias with pieris, which we love for its delicate bell-shaped flowers.

Fall Bouquet with Dahlias: Deep-red and sunny yellow dahlias, combined with hydrangeas, calla lilies, and rose hips, are perfect for a fall celebration.

Yellow Dahlias Wedding Cake: Bright-yellow dahlia petals made from buttercream cover the top and bottom tiers in this design by Charleston-based cake master Jim Smeal. The hand-piped chevron pattern on the middle tier balances out the all-over floral pattern.
