Christos' signature ethereal designs were updated with an antique twist this bridal runway season: light-as-air tulle was complemented with delicate lace layers. Both simultaneously vintage and modern, the dresses on the Christos Spring 2015 runway are fit for the whimsical, as well as the classically romantic bride.
Christos also sent fresh new colors down the runway including pale blush, mocha, and vanilla — a warm and welcomed change for the label. The slightest bit of sparkle also made its way onto the three-dimensional floral embellishments creating a subtle glam effect. Like Amsale, delicate, barely-there illusions added to the overall gentle elegance of the entire collection.
Like beloved runways past, Christos' collection remained as fluid as ever. The cascading ballerina-like tulle skirts, dainty floral appliqués, and modern illusion necklines were fresh and feminine.
"With a gentle nod to the past but fresh with the spirit of today, this spring the Christos bride embraces an updated take on modern vintage," the design house's inspiration statement said. "Delicate laces, many with novel details and patterns, layer effortlessly, with tulle and point d'esprit breathing fluidity and dimension into the body. Embellishments are equally charming as miniature florets sparkle gently as they cascade down silhouettes, creating a hint of antique-chic."
