4 Wedding-Ready Alternatives to a Smoky Eye

Smoky Eye Alternatives

A subtle smoky eye is a no-fail choice for your wedding-night makeup look, but it's not the only choice. Instead of going over to the dark side, try these fresh (and simple!) alternatives from New York City makeup artist Quinn Murphy.

Classic Lines: Clean, glamorous, and always-flattering, a cat eye is the easiest way to get black-tie ready without piling on tons of shadow. To get your best swoop, Quinn suggests using two black eyeliners: First, draw the shape with a pencil (removing mistakes with a Q-tip as you go), then going over the line with a liquid eyeliner to minimize smudging. To accentuate your cat eye, apply volumizing mascara, swept up and out, or add false lashes just at the outer corners.
Try: Benefit They're Real! Push Up Liner, $24, available at Sephora

Lots of Lashes: Start by brushing a pale shade of gold, champagne, or shell pink eyeshadow across your lids. Next, dot black eyeliner in between each lash to make your lashes look extra-lush, then layer on individual false lashes, placing the longer ones in the middle and the smaller ones at the inner and outer corners. Finish with plenty of waterproof mascara on both your top and bottom lashes and a swipe of soft pink on your lips. The result? Bambi eyes that stun the moment you lift your veil.
Try: L'OReal HiP Studio Secrets Eye Shadow Duo in Precious, $7, available at Amazon; Ardel Duralash Naturals Individual Lashes, $11, available at Amazon

Sparkle and Shine: A twinkling metallic shadow will catch the light beautifully in photos — but be sure to choose a shade that complements your skin tone. For fair-skinned brides, that means champagne or rose-gold, olive-skinned brides should look for gold or bronze, and dark-skinned brides will look amazing in shimmery chocolate or onyx. Sweep it across your lids for a simple wash of sparkle, or combine it with a lighter shade on the inner corners of your lid, then finish with brown or black liner.
Try: Bobbi Brown Sand Eye Palette, $65, available at Sephora

Strip Down: A barely-there eye doesn't have to look minimal. The trick to making nude shadows look glam enough for your wedding day is choosing a satin-finish or cream eyeshadow with flecks of gold. This will flatter all eye colors and makes them look bright in photos, Quinn says. If you have fair skin, go for taupe or beige shadows, if you have a medium to dark complexion, look for browns. Finish with brown eyeliner traced as close to your lash line as possible.
Try: RMS Cream Eye Polish in Seduce, $28, RMSBeauty.com

Former Entourage Star Perrey Reeves Is Engaged!

Sorry Ari! She may have played the hilarious Entourage character's wife on the small screen, but soon Perrey Reeves will be wed to someone else in real life: tennis instructor and founder of Grips, Aaron Fox.

And unlike Ari's many marriage flubs, Fox seems to be quite the romantic. He reportedly pulled out all of the stops when it came to popping the big question to the Covert Affairs actress. "Aaron surprised Perrey with a room filled with roses and candles in a suite at New York City's Ace Hotel," a source told Us Weekly. "He took her to ABC Kitchen, her favorite restaurant in NYC and asked her to marry him in front of his mom and family."

Apparently, Fox is also a stickler for tradition. "He had asked my mom in advance for her blessing," Reeves told Us Weekly. "Aaron is so sweet and romantic."

From the looks of the photo, above, which was taken last night at HBO's Boardwalk Empire season premiere party, Reeves's ring is a large pear-cut solitaire with a pavé halo surrounding it. It also looks like the sparkler might be yellow. If that's the case, though, she would be one of many celebs to rock a colorful engagement ring.

No further word on their pending wedding yet, but Us reports that they love attending concerts together and recently took a vacation to Mexico, so we're sure the big day will be a good time. Congrats to the happy couple!

How to Cure a Post-Wedding Hangover

Wedding Hangover Cures

Photo: Vue Photography

It's your party and you can drink if you want to! But be prepared, because sometimes even the most well-intentioned brides can't avoid overindulging when the champagne keeps flowing all night (hey, no judgment here). From tried-and-true methods to the borderline bizarre, here's how to help ease the pain of a post-wedding hangover so you can get your glow back stat.

1. Pop Some Advil
Advil and other over-the-counter anti-inflammatories can certainly help relieve some of the symptoms associated with a post-wedding hangover, like a splitting headache, for example. Take a couple with a big glass of water as soon as you wake up. You'll be feeling better in no time.

2. Hair of the Dog
While not a cure, there's definitely no denying the fact that a good Bloody Mary with breakfast can put you on the fast track to feeling fine again after a long night of boozing, says bar and hospitality consultant Anneliese Place, author of Hair of the Dog: Hangover Remedies That Work. The downside? Once that drink wears off, you might feel even worse than you did before, but hey, it's worth a shot. (No, not literally.)

3. Sip on Some Lemon Water
Or instead of a cocktail, fill up your cup with some soothing lemon water to help balance blood sugar and correct your body's PH level, suggests Place. "Simply squeeze the juice of half of a fresh lemon into 8 oz. of warm water and enjoy. If it's hard to swallow on this particular morning, stir in a teaspoon or two of raw honey."

4. Create Your Own Eucalyptus Steam Shower
No time or cash to hit the spa? No problem. Bring the spa to you at home or in your hotel room by wetting a washcloth with hot water and placing about 15 to 20 drops of eucalyptus oil (found at any Whole Foods or natural store) on it. Let the washcloth hang in the shower while it runs, and hop in to detox once you begin to smell the eucalyptus.

6. Take a Wasabi or Mustard Bath
We swear it's not as gross as it sounds! According to celebrity health coach Maria Marlowe, "a soak in warm wasabi water or a mustard bath helps stimulates blood circulation and promotes oxygenation of the cells, which speeds up waste removal. Simply add 2 to 4 tbs. mustard powder or wasabi paste/ powder to hot bath water and soak for 15 minutes," she instructs. "Get out of the bath, and wrap yourself up in warm towels for further sweating and detoxification afterward. Be sure to drink plenty of water or coconut water throughout too."

7. Add Baking Soda to Water
One of the worst parts about a wedding hangover is by far an upset tummy, but luckily, there's a cure for that. To help quell the queasy feeling, Marlowe recommends adding about a teaspoon of aluminum free baking soda to a glass of water and drinking it. "The salt will also speed up your rehydration, helping to mitigate a parched mouth, headache and dizziness more quickly."

Amsale Interview

Photo: George Chinsee

Bridal designer Amsale Aberra, known for confident, understated elegance (you won't find heavy embellishments on Amsale's gowns), has created gorgeous bridal collections for over 25 years from the New York City headquarters of her eponymous label. We love her affinity for clean lines and luxe fabrics, and we sat down with the designer to discuss her design process, her top styling tips for brides, and her thoughts on wedding day beauty.

The designer has a classic process of finding inspiration for her collections.
"When designing a new collection, as we are right now, I find that the inspiration often comes as a continuous flow of the previous season," explained the designer, when asked about how she finds inspiration. "I begin with a mood board to create a feeling, and of course, fabrics play an important role inspiring my designs."

The Amsale bride is a fan of "understated luxury."
"She likes clean lines and simple silhouettes in exquisite fabrics, and her bridal gown reflects her daily style, but makes her feel like a bride."

An Amsale runway is always on point.
"When styling our runway shows, my goal is to make sure that the makeup looks young and current," said the designer. "I like to keep hair, makeup and accessories simple, so that it is all about the dress."

Amsale Interview 2

The designer loves to use beautiful lace and refined Italian tulle and silk organza when designing.
When asked about her favorite fabrics to use in creating her gowns, the designer said, "I can't say that I have a favorite fabric necessarily, but rather it depends on the feel I want to create. For Amsale, I am focused on using soft layering, so I am sourcing soft tulle and silk organza from Italy. Lace is still very important for our collections, and I use Lyon and Alecon lace from France, layered with colored silk chiffon."

Amsale's top styling tips for brides? Mind the veil and make one bold statement.
"A bride must always make sure that her hairstyle will work with or without a veil. Plan for both, and work around it with your beauty look. For jewelry, I always suggest to keep it minimal, however, if you love jewelry, make one bold statement. Try a statement earring, necklace, or bracelet, but not all three at once!" A final tip from the designer, "Make sure to try on a veil. I find it's the one accessory some brides shy away from, but it's such a unique accessory that you can only really wear for a wedding."

Tom Brady Does What to Get Wife Gisele Bündchen's Attention?

You may think Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen have the perfect relationship, but being married to a the world's highest paid (and probably busiest) supermodel isn't always easy.

In an interview with Man of the World magazine, the NFL superstar says he often has to result to childish measures to grab Gisele's focus. "I like attention from her, so when I'm not getting it I let her know in immature ways, like a young, immature child would," he told the magazine. "You throw fits and you pout and you whine until you get what you want."

Unfortunately, after five years together and two children, she's started to catch onto his ways. "She's on to me, she knows all of my tricks," he adds. "So now I have to learn new tricks."

See more: Which Celebrity Couple Is Getting Married Next?

Contrary to popular belief, Gisele isn't perfect either. Tom even goes as far as describing her as a bit of a nag! "I'm a guy, what doesn't she get on me for?" he jokes. "That's just what wives do."

At the end of the day, though, the New England Patriots quarterback really admires his Brazilian beauty (we don't blame him!). "My wife speaks five languages," he explains. "I always tell her I speak two: English and football."

We love how frank and self-aware Tom is about their relationship quirks — it somehow makes them even cuter! Plus, it's pretty reassuring to see that such a gorgeous couple has a marriage just like most people.

Mess-Free Snacks to Munch on While You & Your Bridesmaids Get Glam

Mess-Free Snacks for Wedding Prep

One of the biggest mistakes brides make on their wedding day? Forgetting to eat! With all of the nerves and excitement in the air, we can't really blame brides for passing up on the platters of mini muffins and passing around the champagne instead. However, if you don't want you or your BFFs to pass out at the altar (yes, it's happened before), we suggest you get some food in your bellies, even if it is only in the form of snacks.

1. Bite-Sized Everything
Well, almost! "Think mini desserts, mini quiches and teeny tiny sandwiches that can be popped into your mouth in one bite, no plastic ware or plates needed," says Texas-based makeup artist Jennifer Trotter, who specializes in weddings. "Avoid anything that has to be cut up or eaten with a fork and knife." Other no-no's include red wine, berries, cupcakes with brightly colored frosting, hard candy (which can stain your teeth and tongue) and foods like Cheetos and Doritos that tend to coat your fingers in that dreaded orange dust, ugh.

See More: 10 Foods That Will Stain Your Teeth Before the Wedding

2. Unsalted Nuts
For a quick energy boost sans the mess and bloat, you really can't go wrong with unsalted nuts. You'll get the protein you need for the day. Plus, you won't wipe any lingering salt on your dress ...

3. A Fruit Tray
While you probably won't want to sink your chompers into a gigantic piece of watermelon, small pieces of cut fruit (nothing too juicy) on skewers are great. Fruit, like bananas, which don't require forks or touching with your fingers, are smart options too, adds Lauren Harris-Pincus, MS, RDN, owner of Nutrition Starring You.

4. Cheese & Crackers
An oldie but a goody! Yes, crackers and pre-cut cheese cubes on toothpicks are completely expected but that's because they work — it's filling and mess-free.

5. Protein Bars
"The day of the wedding, it's important for brides and bridesmaids to balance their blood sugar and sustain their energy levels with nutritious snacks that contain protein, carbs and healthy fat," advises Harris-Pincus. Look for ones that aren't loaded with sugar.

We Asked, You Told: Creative Ways Our Facebook Followers Personalized Their Wedding Cakes!

You can personalize everything in your wedding, from your ceremony to your wedding dress to your favors. One of our favorite ways to turn your nuptials into a totally unique affair? Adding personal touches to your wedding cake! Whether you're into a traditional tiered confection or you favor alternate options like cupcakes and donut towers, it's so easy to say "This is us!" through dessert. Given how inventive our Facebook followers are with every detail, we had to ask what kind of personal elements they included in their wedding cakes. The result? Cute toppers, awesome groom's cakes, and colors and designs galore. It was hard, but we narrowed down our four favorites, seen above, for their amazing attention to detail and lovely stories behind them.

The Power of a Cake Topper: The three-tiered white cake (top left) is a perfect example of how to make a subtle addition that speaks volumes about your personality. Though the white roses and blue hydrangeas are a nice touch, it's the cake topper that puts it over the edge — the figurines are of Star Wars characters! Bride Nancy Reid Minervini and her groom got to embrace their nerdy side with this sweet addition.

A Meaningful Groom's Cake: We've seen a lot of groom's cakes in our day, but few have been as well-executed as this one, as shared by bride Lindsey Zaleta Rimassa (top right). The cake is an exact copy of her husband's FDNY helmet. It's a perfect way to show pride and personality, and we're sure her groom loved it.

See More: The Prettiest Naked Cakes!

A Thematic Cake: Hosting an afternoon tea-style wedding doesn't mean dessert must be limited to petit-fours and crumpets. Bride Bethany O'Toole shared a photo of her delightful, Alice in Wonderland-esque wedding cake (bottom right), which she served at her afternoon nuptials. Equal parts whimsical and romantic, it's a perfect centerpiece.

An Update on a Classic: Personalizing your cake doesn't mean it has to shout out all of your interests or your wedding theme. Sometimes, the best ones are simply cute takes on a classic design. Bride Jill Stafford, for example, served a Rice Krispies Treat wedding cake for her outdoor wedding (bottom left). What's more, her aunt and uncle created the puzzle piece topper. Sweet, simple and creative, just the way we like it.

How to Preserve Your Wedding Bouquet

$

Many brides's most beloved aspect of their wedding is their bouquet. Some brides love it so much that they want to keep it forever. The good news is that many can! With various preservation techniques, there's no reason you can't keep your most memorable blooms forever. Here, a few different ways to preserve your wedding bouquet so that you can look back at it in places other than your wedding album.

When it comes to preserving a wedding bouquet, brides have a few options: They can press and frame the flowers (if not all, then some), they can dry the bouquet as a whole and have it covered in glass, or, the last and most difficult option is to dry out the bouquet yourself.

Unsurprisingly, the first route is the easiest. Simply press the flowers and get them framed — it's a sweet and sentimental way to remember your big day! Another option is to enlist the help of a florist to preserve the bouquet as a whole. Of course, though, this service may come at an extra cost so take that into consideration as well.

Last but not least, you can make preserving your bouquet a little DIY project. The most important tool in maintaining your big-day blooms? Silica gels, which absorb water content. They also happen to preserve the color of each petal, too, as they're drying them out. First, you'll need to grind the crystals down into a fine powder. Then use a dry, clean, soft paintbrush to brush the power each and every inch of the bunch. Place all of the contents into an airtight container, filling the remaining space up with the leftover silica gel powder. Leave it in a warm place for a week, remove carefully, and spray with either artist's fixative spray or hairspray. Once done, allow it to dry and carefully place somewhere out of harms way — we'd suggest a glass box.

No matter which option you choose, act fast! When it comes to preserving flowers, the sooner you do so the better.

Scarlett Johansson Gives Birth to a Baby Girl!

Scarlett Johannson Talks Family and Work

Scarlett Johansson has a lot to celebrate these days! She's not only been engaged to hunky French journalist Romain Dauriac since September, the lovestruck couple also welcomed their first child together yesterday!

Johansson's daughter was born in New York City and named Rose Dorothy. Adorably, the baby girl's middle name is after Johansson's grandmother, who, the Lucy star warmly recalled earlier this year, was "the first Francophone in my family."

The news was officially confirmed by the actress's publicist who told the Associated Press in a statement that "Mother and daughter are doing well."

See more: Which Celebrity Couple Will Get Married Next?

Six months before the pregnancy was announced, Johansson happily accepted Dauriac's proposal (which, FYI, included an amazing Art Deco-inspired engagement ring). And while she kept a relatively low-profile as an expectant bride-to-be, she did step out a few times to debut a seriously cute baby bump.

Now all that's left for these new parents is a wedding! Despite previous reports that they'd wed in August, we're not too surprised Johansson decided to wait and focus on her little Rose — for now, at least.

When the time comes, though, we expect the affair to be intimate, held in France, and low-key. After all, this past March the new mom told Access Hollywood, "I'm terrible at planning. Yeah, I'm not gonna plan anything — I like to wing it!"

Whether she "wings it" or not, we hope that they'll wait long enough for little Rose to act as flower girl!

Stylish Wedding Menus That Will Definitely Impress Your Guests

Calligraphed Placemat Wedding Menu

How you present your wedding menu is nearly as important as what dishes are actually on it. After all, we eat with our eyes first, so offering guests a gorgeous display from which to choose their meal is an important part of the reception experience. Whether you're planning a formal, sit-down meal or a more casual buffet-style reception, spending some time picking the right wedding menu is essential. Not only will it inform guests of their dining options for the evening, but the right piece of stationery or display can help transform your reception space! To help get you inspired, we found four creative and stylish wedding menus.

The Placemat Menu
If creating a personalized experience is an important part of your wedding planning, consider custom-made menus at each seat. Above, calligraphed kraft paper placemats replace a classic menu card. For an even more luxe version of this trend, skip escort cards and have each guests name written on their placemat. Love this look but need it to work on a budget? Order an online template that you can print and cut at home to save big.

The Table Card
For a family-style meal, decorate with one or two menu cards per table, depending on size. Since all options will be placed directly in front of guests, they'll really use the menu as a point of reference as they plate their own meal. This pretty calligraphed option is simple yet still elegant, and by utilizing colors that complement the glitzy tablecloth, the entire vibe is finished and refined.

The Oversize Menu
If you're having a buffet dinner or hosting a smaller reception with just a handful of guests, an oversize chalkboard menu is an ideal option. Place the hand-written sign at the beginning of the buffet line near flatware and plates so guests can review their choices before reaching each station. For an intimate reception, place the sign on a pretty easel where all guests can read it.

The Individual Menu
For a formal, seated meal, a printed menu at each place setting is ideal. Since guests will be ordering from your servers, it's important to have the options directly in front of them. Plus, this classic navy option with neat white type helps balance the more simple dinnerware.

It turns out Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg's August 31 wedding at the Hotel Baker in St. Charles, Illinois was just as romantic and beautiful as we could have imagined.

Us Weekly recently released the couple's wedding album, giving us a glimpse into their big day. The photos show a red rose-encrusted ceremony, with the crimson flowers creating their altar, filling the aisle arrangements, showing up in boutonnieres, and in McCarthy's bouquet. White candles and pale green chairs completed the lush space, where 90 guests witnessed the couple of one year say "I do."

The reception space had equal amounts of red rose accents, from the centerpieces to the menu cards. As for the funny woman's bridal ensemble, we got a closer look at her custom strapless Ines di Santo wedding dress, as well as her unbelievable jewelry. Wahlberg gave her a diamond band to go with her 10-carat yellow sapphire engagement ring, which nicely complemented her chandelier earrings and bracelet.

A slightly less glamorous, but far more meaningful, part of the album is the photo of McCarthy's son Evan getting ready with his future stepfather. "He said to me, 'I have the most important job at the wedding,'" McCarthy gushed to Us about Evan, who walked her down the aisle. "He was perfect."

Other highlights include images of McCarthy posing with her husband's New Kids On The Block bandmate groomsmen, and the newlyweds sharing their first dance to The Sound of Music's "Edelweiss."

"I won the lottery," Wahlberg, who currently stars on Blue Bloods, told Us. McCarthy added: "We are ready to live happily ever after."

And if Wahlberg's tweet, above, is any indication, they already are!

4 Ways to Tell You're with the Guy You'll Marry

The Plunge How to Know He's the One

Photo: Getty Images

Every week, we give our readers a glimpse inside the mindset of a guy's brain on weddings with the help of the hilarious and smart editors at The Plunge. For their latest installment, they've outlined four ways to know if your man is sure about marriage.

One of the most stressful times for a woman is that limbo period between "Things are getting serious" and "Will you marry me?" At least we assume so. The most stressful time for us is the time between breakfast and lunch. Will it ever be sandwich o'clock? While we count down to our next meal, let's take a minute to review a few ways to know your man knows you're the one.

You Actually Talk About the Future
And he actually listens! And talks back! This is known as understanding where each other are coming from and being on the same page about wanting more than a casual thing. If you know he's committed, you know almost everything you need to. Bonus points if you've already named your future children and he hasn't run screaming for the hills.

You've Delivered the Ultimatum
Perhaps not the way you wanted to confirm how he feels about you, but the old "Marry Me Or Move Out" speech certainly leaves little room for doubt. Generally, you'd rather not go this route. Your man doesn't want to feel backed into a corner and you don't want to start things on a sour note by feeling like you forced him to marry you against his will. However, if you can nudge him in the right direction, or even just get the conversation moving forward, a gentle reminder won't necessarily hurt. Just keep it respectful and sincere, and try as hard as you can to avoid the phrase, "Or else."

He's Putting It Off
We realize this doesn't make a ton of sense and yes, he may just be too scared to even consider it in the first place, but think about it for a second: Proposing is one of the scariest things a man will ever do. Ergo, when he's realized you're the one he wants to marry, he'll irrationally shy away from the terrifying big step he must take to actually do so.

You Just Fit
As men, we have a tendency to let our eyes and minds wander from time to time, but we're also realistic. We know we're never going to have the luxury of being able to go Clooneying around the world, bedding supermodels from port to port (most of us, anyway). So rather than obsess over you being the "single, one-in-a-billion, only person out there that's truly meant for me and me alone," we consider whether, now that we've found you, you're the right fit for us. If it feels like you're a great fit, don't sweat it. He'll come around — we all do.

Even if they don't seem super involved in the wedding-planning process, grooms are going through the same life-changing experience as their brides-to-be. Enter: The Plunge. The site helps the engaged guy navigate his wedding from a man's point of view.

Olivia Palermo Dishes on Her Wedding-Day Look, Second Ceremony and Changing Her Name

Fashion icon and new wife (not to mention our June/July 2014 cover girl!) Olivia Palermo knows a thing or two about bridal style. When she married husband Johannes Huebl in an intimate ceremony in Bedford, New York in June, the fashion-forward bride wore a custom-made Carolina Herrera ensemble, which featured a sweater, shorts, and tulle overskirt.

Her unexpected choice wasn't surprising given Olivia regularly pushes fashion boundaries in her day-to-day life. "Getting ready for a special event, like your wedding day, you have to feel like yourself and dress for your environment," Olivia tells the New York Post of her bridal outfit. "I really wanted to dress like me."

And it looks like her nontraditional bridal style may have inspired other celebs — like Ashlee Simpson who recently married in not one, but two different two-piece ensembles.

And for fans of the fashion-maven's enviable bridal style, we have some great news: You'll likely get to see it all over again. Late last month, Olivia spoke with the Daily Mail Australia and revealed she and Johannes are planning to host another celebration for family and friends who were unable to attend their intimate nuptials.

"You know it was a nice, small quiet day for family and as some point we will do something a little bit bigger," Olivia said.

Whether or not she and Johannes do plan that second reception, don't plan on calling her Mrs. Huebl. Olivia told Hello! Fashion Monthly that she has no intention of changing her name. "I love Palermo and Johannes understands that," Olivia said in an interview. "I can be Mrs. Huebl at home."

You've found the man, picked the venue, bought the dress, and tasted the cakes, but while all of the big-ticket wedding planning to-dos may be done, there's plenty of last-minute nitty-gritty items to complete. From guest changes, coordinating vendor drop-offs and parking, and even figuring out how to remove all of the garbage once the party's over, here's everything you need to confirm close to your wedding.

If guests have changed, you'll need to inform the hotel, florist, and caterers: That way they can adjust the seating set-up, change the number of centerpieces they create if it's a dramatic change, and prepare less food if need be!

Confirm all timing: You're most likely going to have a lot of different vendors milling about on the day of, so make sure they're clear on the event's itinerary, where they should be and when to prevent any unecessary anxiety.

If you're borrowing props from your florist, let her know when she can retrieve them: From baskets, to pedastals, and any other supplies they'll want to get back, make sure to coordinate a post-wedding pick-up time with your florist.

Access routes and parking for vendors: If they're bringing in tables, structures, flowers, even five-tier cakes, your vendors will most likely unload all of your ceremony and reception's décor from a large truck. Check that there's an access route and parking available at all party spaces to ensure a speedy and stress-free setup!

Getting rid of the garbage: Delineate who will take out the trash once the party's over, be it the hotel, planner, florist, etc.

Don't forget the shot list: Make sure you talk to your photographer pre "I do" about what type of snaps you'd like to savor for years to come.

Ensure your cake has a stand: Don't forget to double-check with your baker who will be delivering and assembling your wedding-day confection. Also, whether or not the baker provides it, don't forget about the cake stand and knife for cutting it!

Amal Alamuddin and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, might have something in common quite soon — their wedding dress designer, that is. The future Mrs. George Clooney is rumored to be wearing a Sarah Burton-designed Alexander McQueen gown to her nuptials, which are happening in just a few weeks.

Alamuddin was spotted at McQueen's London headquarters on Wednesday, where she even stopped to exchange kisses with a seamstress outside, according to People, possibly alluding to a goodbye after a successful fitting. People contacted the brand for confirmation, but received no comment. During the visit, the international lawyer showcased her amazing personal style in a one-shoulder floral print and stripe maxi dress. Alamuddin also visited the Michael John Salon with her mother, Baria.

This goes against rumors that the bride would wear Oscar de la Renta for the ceremony, due to the influence of Anna Wintour, who will be attending the wedding. Page Six reported that "she [Wintour] and Oscar are such good friends and [she'd] want to give him some attention." At this point, it seems, only time will tell who will design the lucky lady's bridal gown!

As far as what the groom will be wearing, WWD reported that a team from Giorgio Armani was flown to Lake Como for a fitting for Clooney and his male attendants. From the looks of it, the wedding will be incredibly chic.

Meanwhile, Clooney and Alamuddin obtained their marriage license in August, so the happy couple is more or less ready to go, outfits aside. The pair will be wed in Italy — not a surprise to anyone as Clooney has a storied estate on Lake Como where both he and his fiancée spent a great deal of time this summer.

A Celeb-Approved Wedding Trend: Naked Cakes!

It's what's on the inside that counts — particularly when it comes to your wedding cake! A relatively new wedding trend, the naked cake, proves that many couples care more about their tasty filling than layers of buttercream and fondant — celebrities included. Both Ashlee Simpson and Angelina Jolie served a naked cake at their recent weddings!

Instead of covering the outside of the cake with layers upon layers of frosting, bakers are increasing the filling between tiers and leaving layers exposed.

Naked cakes gained popularity in 2013, but some couples weren't fans of the "unfinished" look of these confections. But as more and more bakers began to offer these creative cakes, the style has been refined and elevated to a look that is so deserving of a place on your wedding dessert table.

Whether you're just not a fan of sweet frosting or love the rustic vibe of a bare confection, a naked cake allows you to offer your friends and family a modern dessert that will still fall under the "classic" mold. And since these cakes are just as customizable as the traditional, fully-frosted dessert, you can select a style and flavors that reflect your wedding's vibe.

One major perk of gong nude with your wedding cake? Your baker will ensure it's freshly baked on the morning of your wedding since these desserts lack the barrier of buttercream and fondant that keep traditional cakes from drying out.

Subtle Crop Top Trend

If you've been keeping an eye on the ready-to-wear runways the past few seasons, than you know that crop tops are a major thing. They're such a big style must these days, that they've even made their way onto a few bridal runways last season. For Spring 2015, the striking style continued to evolve from less midriff-baring pieces to more sophisticated separates.

A modern silhouette, crop tops are less bralettes these days and more like a cool-new layered look. From shimmering scalloped T-shirts worn over billowing A-line skirts, to a lacy gown covers, most of these designs show no skin at all. And if they do, it's a subtle sliver rather than a full-on belly-baring piece.

These upgraded separates are a great way to stay current, but still remain wedding-appropriate. Here, a few of our favorite most recent crop tops from the bridal runways!

Mira Zwillinger: Zwillinger's crop tops this past season were so subtle, it was hard to tell that the top was even cropped! Covered in embellishments, these layers hit just right below the waistline, making it an ethereal, modern, and most of romantic option for brides who want to stay on-trend but aren't ready to bare all.

Houghton: We love Houghton's cropped looks because they do a really great job of contrasting loose tops with a slim-fitting skirt. Whether it's a sequined long-sleeve shirt showing a sliver of skin or the chopped sheath on the right that shows no skin but is completely layered, these are both well-executed takes on a new silhouette.

Monique Lhuillier: Sure, this look is not exactly what comes to mind when you think "crop top" but this layered lace cape-let does exactly what a crop top does — it adds an extra dimension to your gown. Plus, it hits right above the hip. An added piece like this is the perfect solution for the girls who don't want to buy separates but still want something that looks layered.

Figuring Out Finger Foods: What to Serve and When

Food — like drinks, music, and the cake — is one of the the most essential elements to a wedding reception. Whether you have a seated dinner or not, canapés, also known as hors d'oeuvres or even finger foods, are a fun way to feed hungry guests. Here, a few guidelines before passing around these petite bites.

What types of finger foods to serve at a wedding: Anything, really! Whether you want to serve bacon-stuffed figs, spicy chicken satays, a mini cup of ceviche, or good 'ol cheeseburger sliders, the menu is up to you and your caterer. Be warned, though: You should choose foods that are neat and easy to pick up and eat — no one likes to mess themselves up during a party. Whatever you do decide, they should be small enough to be devoured in one bite and clean enough to not stain your friends and family's wedding-ready attire.

When to serve finger foods: Canapés are more commonly served as appetizers during the cocktail hour, before guests take a seat at their assigned tables. They should be served by waiters or waitresses on trays so your friends and family can move around easily and keep the conversation going.

On a tight budget? Consider hosting a cocktail party-style reception so you can serve finger foods as the main course — but make sure keep the bites coming so guests don't start chasing down waiters for an extra slider or sushi roll. Consult your caterer to come up with endlessly delicious ideas!
