My sister is dating a married man—and not just any married man, but the stepfather of a friend I plan to invite to my wedding. Is it OK to tell her she cannot bring him? —Kristi B. of Tulsa, Okla., via email
Dear Kristi,
Planning a wedding is hard enough without having to deal with your sister's bad judgment. You are absolutely right—you should not allow her to bring her married boyfriend as her plus-one, and I'd be very surprised if she gave you a hard time about it. She has to know she's in shady territory here, and I doubt that her paramour would want to attend your celebration unless he wants to get caught. If you are worried that your sister will have a problem with your decision, blame it on us.
