I'm a picky eater. How should I handle dining out during my honeymoon?
If you suffer from a food allergy, not to worry. After booking, resorts and cruise lines will typically ask if either you or your husband have dietary needs or allergies, and most are sensitive to dietary restrictions. For example, Fairmont hotels worldwide have vegan, gluten-free and macrobiotic dishes on all their menus. I was also recently traveling in Africa on a safari, and every lodge we visited (some were quite remote!) would ask if we were vegetarian or gluten-free. Another tip, particularly for city-bound honeymooners: Ask your concierge what area restaurants will work with your diet.
If you're just a picky eater, part of the fun in traveling, I find, is trying new things, particularly when it comes to food. I'll never forget eating escargot on a dare from my dad in Paris when I was eight years old. And it turned out, I loved snails (maybe it's the fact that they are dripping in butter and garlic) and I've been eating them ever since. So don't be afraid to break out and taste something new!
