As we do each season, Brides asked designers showing Fall 2013 collections to grant us a sketched sneak peek at the gowns soon to hit New York runways. (Afterward, it's fun to compare the sketches to the real-life gowns they become.) Here, Elizabeth Fillmore transports us to her parents' country home, the inspiration behind her new collection:
Describe your collection in a word:
Diaphanous
What inspired this season's theme?
I was inspired by a visit this summer to my mom and dad's country home in Michigan, which swarmed with dragonflies and butterflies, overgrown ponds, fluttering insects, and endless Flora.
What is unique about this sketch in particular?
This dress is a floating vision of sheer coverage and fluttering motifs.
