To celebrate Jennifer Aniston's engagement to Justin Theroux, Brides asked some of the biggest names in bridal design to sketch wedding dresses befitting everyone's favorite 'Friend.'
How does Jennifer Aniston's movie star-next-door persona translate through the eyes of an Italian-Venezuelan designer? "She's the fun American girl," says Rafael Cennamo, "who is also very sophisticated and feminine." Since launching his couture eveningwear label in 2006, Cennamo has dressed such noted American girls as Beyonce, Eva Longoria, and Gwen Stefani for red carpet appearances, going on to debut his first bridal collection in 2010. Were Aniston yet another of his celebrity clients on her wedding day, Cennamo would dress her in a crepe bias-cut gown embellished with Chantilly lace and jeweled straps that criss-cross over a low-cut back. It's a version of relaxed glamor in bridal design that Cennamo envisions for a ceremony "not on the beach, but near it in Southern California—maybe near Malibu."
