Sarah and David's ceremony was held in The Guardian Building, an art deco landmark in downtown Detroit. "It's our favorite building in the city," says Sarah. The couple worked with Misty Trompeter of Bells & Bliss Events on the wedding-day details.
Following the ceremony, the 252 guests made their way to the Colony Club for the reception, where cocktail hour featured hors d'oeuvres such as mini spinach pies and shrimp cocktail, as well as music performed by a string trio from La Corda Ensemble. The festivities then moved to the ballroom for dinner and dancing. Dinner offerings included filet mignon and grilled salmon.
For their first dance, Sarah and David selected "Into My Arms" by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Music was spun by DJ Mike Rundel from Mike Staff Productions. "Dave and I agree that the moment right after our first dance—when we hugged on the dance floor—was unforgettable for both of us," Sarah says.
