To celebrate Jennifer Aniston's engagement to Justin Theroux, Brides asked some of the biggest names in bridal design to sketch wedding dresses befitting everyone's favorite 'Friend.'
A great haircut made Jennifer Aniston's career—and if Theia Creative Director Don O'Neill has any say in the matter, it'll be the making of her wedding dress, too. "Jennifer has a wonderful relaxed style, which is created by her signature haircut," explains O'Neill. "I felt the sporty look of a backless halter dress paired with the romance of a mermaid skirt would be perfect."
Suggesting an all-American, glamorous wedding for the star and her fiancé, O'Neill designed a French Chantilly lace gown delicately re-embroidered with silk thread and micro beading over a nude silk-georgette lining. The skirt is a mixture of gazaar, tulle, and organza that creates "an ethereal cloud to accentuate Jennifer's beautiful figure."
To complement the spirit of the gown, O'Neill imagines an outdoor ceremony in Laguna, California with white linen table cloths and crystal bowls filled with luscious white and pale-green hydrangeas. The finishing touch, says O'Neill, would be the Pacific Ocean, so that "the sea breeze could catch her hair and the fine ruffles on her skirt!"
