While many of the looks walking couture runways in Paris provide inspiration—albeit in the form of fantasy—for brides, one couturier actually translates his high-fashion collection into attainable gowns for women the world over. Elie Saab's finale bridal gown from the Fall 2012 couture shows offers a potential peek at things to come in his next wedding collection for Spanish label Pronovias. This gilded confection turns up the volume (to even Ivana Trump levels) on Saab's already ornate sensibility, with a wide-sweeping skirt, a lace-embellished cathedral veil, a barely there illusion neckline, and a flurry of painstakingly placed gold embroidery, which was inspired by the rich designs of the Ottoman Empire. Too rich for an everyday bride, maybe, but a perfect starting point for Saab's forthcoming collection of gilded Pronovias gowns.
