"We wanted the night to feel glamorous and romantic, with a New Orleans-style twist," says Tomeika of her and Aron's wedding celebration at The Ritz-Carlton. To achieve a mix of both sophistication and vivacity, the couple chose a palette of fuchsia, platinum, and black. After an early-evening ceremony beneath a canopy accented with dangling crystals, pink hydrangeas, silver dusty millers, and votive candles, the couple's 130 guests then moved into the atrium just outside the hotel's ballroom for cocktail hour, where they enjoyed mini open-faced fried shrimp po' boys and crab cakes.
And in true New Orleans fashion, the bridal party entered the reception carrying feather boa-trimmed parasols while the groomsmen waved white handkerchiefs. The ballroom decor mingled the hotel's stately chandeliers with antique furniture and modern design elements, like tall glass lamps with sleek black shades. Centerpieces of various heights combined clusters of pink and white roses alongside stems of orchids. Seated along fuchsia fabric-covered tables—each named for a famous New Orleans street—the couple and their guests dined on a three-course meal, which included braised salmon and fried chicken breast.
