"Patrick and I love camping in Joshua Tree and have always driven by this bed-and-breakfast on our way to the park," says Julie. After visiting Sacred Sands, "we instantly knew we'd found the place," she says.

On their wedding day, Julie wore a gown she'd purchased online; Patrick wore a custom suit from Fedt Attire. Julie's bouquet, by Devynn's Garden, was comprised of succulents, which she planted in her garden after the wedding.

All the stationery, by Deanna Moore, was inspired by a wedding poster designed by Johann Gomez, which was reproduced for guests to take home as favors. The couple's ceremony, held inside Sacred Sands, featured the desert at sunset as a backdrop.

During cocktail hour on the front patio, their 45 guests sipped orange mojitos, the couple's signature drink. The reception area was decorated with engagement photos and a box Patrick built for the occasion for guests to leave congratulatory notes. At dinner, everyone was seated at two tables decorated with succulents in a variety of antique silver vessels.

The owners of Sacred Sands, Steve Pratt and Scott Cutler, along with chef Richard Gray, created a menu of vegetarian dishes based on a cookbook from Julie and Patrick's favorite restaurant, Real Food Daily. In addition to providing the catering, the owners also designed the reception's floral and event décor.

For dessert, guests enjoyed slices of pumpkin bundt cake topped with cream cheese frosting and whiskey sauce, along with cobbler, ice cream, the bride's mother's famous biscotti and almond roca, and almond champagne. "Patrick and I sat on a bench for two and soaked it all in," Julie says. "Being surrounded by our closest friends and family—we've never felt more loved."
