Kristin and Corbin both went to college in Virginia, so they decided to incorporate elements of their Southern roots into their spring wedding. Kristin also wanted to honor her roots by marrying at The Church of St. John the Divine in Houston, the same church where her grandparents wed.

The bride wore a lace Vera Wang gown from The Bridal Salon at Saks Jandel and carried a small bouquet of lilies of the valley. To personalize his black tuxedo, Corbin sported silver Texas Lone Star studs and a boutonniere that matched Kristin's bouquet. The bridesmaids wore navy silk Coren Moore dresses from Bella Bridesmaid.

For the ceremony, the church was decorated with blooms and branches from Virginia's state tree, the dogwood. After Kristin's father, Edd, walked her down the aisle for the 7 p.m. ceremony, the couple's guests sang "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee."

"The singing was beautiful and was a really special, upbeat way to begin the service," says Kristin.

Following the ceremony, the celebration moved to River Oaks Country Club, where guests enjoyed a seafood buffet during cocktail hour. The décor inside the ballroom reflected Kristin and Corbin's love of Southern-grown flowers. The entrance to the room was flanked by two dogwood trees, and the centerpieces featured seasonal pink and ivory blooms. All florals and decor were by Bergner and Johnson Design.

Kristin's sister, Lisa, a pastry chef, replicated the florals in sugar to adorn the couple's wedding cake. The groom's cake referenced buildings from Corbin's alma maters: Washington and Lee and the University of Virginia. Both confections were created by Who Made the Cake!. The evening's meal, catered by the venue, drew on traditional Southern cuisine, including chicken-fried steak and truffled mac and cheese.

The couple performed their first dance to Jackie Wilson's "(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher" before handing the entertainment over to the band, Party on the Moon. "From the backup dancers to the confetti cannons to the Motown and Lady Gaga songs, it was the best band I've ever danced to," says Kristin. "We didn't wind down until past midnight."
