Last night was unbelievable. I was on board for the christening of Disney's newest and fourth ship, the
Fantasy, here in NYC. Disney pulled out ALL the stops. Neil Patrick Harris hosted a Broadway-style show with fantastic dancers. That would have been enough—but then Jerry Seinfeld decided to come on stage and do stand-up for twenty minutes. Seriously. And then Mariah Carey christened the ship as the official fairy godmother, with a champagne toast. (She looked amazing, btw—all the baby weight is gone.)

The celebrity sightings were unreal, but the highlight was dinner at Animator's Palette. Every guest gets a placemat and is asked to draw a cartoon figure, keeping within the outline they've set. Your drawing is whisked away, and at the end of the night, a mini-movie is played—ada—with everyone's cartoon as a star. Even my crazy drawing (
see above) made it on the screen.
And yes, as a honeymooner, you will see kids on Disney Cruises. But there are plenty of adults-only spots, like The Tube nightclub, and Remy, a fantastic, French restaurant, where you won't see them. The
Fantasy will be doing week-long, Caribbean sailings through the year.
