Kate Middleton is past her due date, and the fourth anniversary of the Royal Wedding was yesterday — we think it's time that she has that Royal Baby Number 2 already! So does Prince William's father, Prince Charles, and like us, he's predicting that Prince George's younger sibling will be a girl! Or, rather, that's what he's hoping for at least.
While meeting with a 100-year-old veteran today to celebrate the centenary of the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, People reports that Charles exclaimed: "We're hoping for a granddaughter!"
This isn't the first time the royal made it known that he'd like to have a granddaughter. Right after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced that they were expecting, Charles let it be known that he hopes they have a girl.

When speaking to Eric Jones, the oldest surviving member of the Welsh Guards, Lynda Bateman, Jones's daughter, told reporters earlier today: "My father introduced me as his daughter and Prince Charles asked how many daughters he had. My father said 'One — and that's enough' and Charles laughed and said 'And we're hoping for a granddaughter!' "
Prince Charles isn't the only one hoping for a granddaughter. All odds point to a little girl for Wills and Kate. Most of Great Britain has been placing bets on the baby's gender, and they're putting their money behind a new little princess. Kate, too, toyed with the idea of a little girl by wearing a hot pink coat during her last official public appearance.
Whether or not the world gains a new princess, we hope Royal Baby Number 2 arrives soon!
