Man Men may be nearing its end, but one of its actors is about to start a new beginning! Kit Williamson who played Ed Gifford on the hit series, is engaged to fellow actor and costar on Logo's EastSiders John Halbach.
According to People, the Mad Men actor is "is sad the series is nearing its end but he's also looking ahead to a bright future that includes marriage to his fiancé John Halbach," his rep said in a statement.
"We all have a right to love, a right to happiness and a right to find a partner in life," he continued.
"We've been together for more than eight years," Williamson also said, E! News reports. "We kind of resisted marriage at first because we were already committed to one another, but all the progress that's happened over the last few years, and the likelihood of a favorable Supreme Court ruling in June, has made us really think about what marriage means to us and our relationship. To deny our right to get married is to deny our relationship's validity."

The lovebirds discussed this decision even further in a recent interview with Out. "The fact that we're getting married and marriage equality is in all the states I've ever lived in is so amazing. That it could be everywhere imminently is also very amazing," Williamson remarked. "Growing up in Mississippi [a state which upholds a gay marriage ban], I thought there was no way I'd ever get married. I thought there was no way I'd ever get to meet somebody. I couldn't imagine my life now. So I'm really grateful for that."
As for the wedding itself, they're unsure, although because their family and friends are spread out across the country they're aiming to do it either in New York, Los Angeles or make it a destination wedding. And they hope to have it on their "manniversary" as they like to call their anniversary (adorable, we know). "[Halbach's] family is in Minnesota, [Williamsons] in Mississippi. It's kind of not convenient for anybody, so maybe we'll just go to none of the above and have a destination wedding!"
Sounds like a great plan to us!
