Sophia Webster is known for her extraordinary heels — from playful prints, metallic, glitter and fur, to angel wings and technicolor details. Webster launched her eponymous line in the spring season of 2013, after working as a design assistant to fellow shoe impresario Nicholas Kirkwood, and she just expanded her irreverently flirty line of heels, sandals and accessories to include a full bridal collection! We sat down with the designer to hear about her inspiration, her top styling tips for your wedding day, and her favorite bridal trends.
Webster was inspired to launch a bridal collection after receiving lots of love from brides on Instagram.
"I started to see lots of women tagging me in their wedding photos on Instagram, wearing styles from my main collection for their big day. Our website had a waiting list for my 'Coco' pumps in ice blue satin, and the 'Evangeline' angel wing sandals sold out in less than 24 hours. In my opinion, the 'Evangeline' was my most bride-friendly offering, and given that response, it felt only natural to design an entire bridal collection."

The collection is equal parts comfortable and unique.
"When I begin designing any shoe collection, everything starts with my imagination in gear, and my hands sketching away. I know the special feeling great shoes can bring on a wedding day, and I just wanted to share that joy through this collection. I wanted to include styles that are really wearable, like the 'Tyra Crystal' and the 'Lola Gem' which are both designed on a lower pitch, which decreases the pressure on the ball of the foot. For the bridal collection I focused even further on the details, thinking of all the little touches, from delicate ice blue stitching on the sole of each shoe, to the matte blue shoe box that opens with an iridescent ribbon bow."
Webster's favorite bridal trend? Surprise — color!
"I am loving the injection of color that is coming through for bridal at the moment, for example, Monique Lhuiller has a gorgeous blue strapless gown in her SS15 collection that I just love."
Webster's top styling tips for brides: find the right shoe for your dress, and let the rest of your accessories and beauty follow.
"I wore 'Lacey' on my wedding day, but I definitely think that your shoes need to complement the gown," she says. "In terms of styling tips, I'd definitely suggest allowing a little extra contingency time on the day, and to choose your accessories wisely, jewelry in particular. For beauty, it's so important to choose a lip color that truly reflects you."
