Setting a budget and balancing expectations
"My fiancé and I are both in our early 30's so there's a certain assumption that we have more income to pay for our own wedding, which I wish were the case. Finding a way to subtly ask our families how much they will be contributing and having those conversations has been super awkward, to say the least. Trying to balance everyone's expectations is tough too. If one side of the family is contributing more, do they get more say in the planning, more people for the guest list?" — Megan

"I expected my family to have strong opinions about the wedding, but not so much my friends. Um, boy was I wrong! One girl I know stopped by with a huge stack of wedding magazines and pointed out a billion things I needed to do to.
