Severus Snape has taken a wife! Harry Potter star Alan Rickman revealed to German newspaper Bild that he recently married Rima Horton, his girlfriend with whom he's been living since 1977.
They cemented their long courtship (they first met 50 years ago, when he was 19!) with a teeny-tiny New York wedding, he told the paper. "We are married. Just recently. It was great, because no one was there" he said of the incredibly intimate nuptials. "After the wedding in New York we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and ate lunch."

Rickman, who's been in hit movies like Love Actually and Die Hard during his long career, apparently didn't need to do much to win over his now-wife after all this time. He laughingly explained to Bild that Horton, an economics lecturer and former councillor in London, didn't want a big ring. In fact, he bought her a $200 wedding band, which, he admitted, "she never wears."
He may often play a villain on-screen (seriously, Hans Gruber doesn't exactly seem like the lovey-dovey type), but it sounds like he's built a lasting, loving relationship in real life. And he's quick to sing Horton's praises. The English actor once told HELLO! magazine of his longtime love, "I think every relationship should be allowed to have its own rules. She's tolerant. She's incredibly tolerant. Unbelievably tolerant. Possibly a candidate for sainthood."
Sounds like they have built a partnership to beat the odds.
