Every bride hopes to be called blushing, beautiful, and glowing on her wedding day, but the stress of nuptial planning isn't a recipe for radiant skin. But don't freak out: A pimple need not stand between you and a perfect day. Our etiquette experts weigh in on how to deal with an untimely break out before your big day.
Don't despair the second you spot a pimple; there are a number of proven solutions to an unwanted zit, even if you're a mere 48 hours from walking down the aisle. If you're willing to pony up more than a few dollars for a quick and immediate fix, a cortisone shot administered to the pimple by your dermatologist is the most effective option. For upwards of $100, your doctor will inject the offending spot with a shot of cortisone, and the pimple should contract considerable if not completely within 24 to 48 hours, leaving a slight indentation and a trace of redness behind.

If the expense is outside your budget, an at-home treatment using over-the-counter products can help reduce the pimple as well. Look for spot treatments containing antibacterial and oil-reducing ingredients such as tea tree oil, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or witch hazel, and try dabbing at the spot with an ice cube to restrict the blood vessels and reduce its size. Most importantly, keep your fingers away from the pimple, as attempting to remove it yourself can further inflame an already angry sore. Leave extractions to the professionals, and with a bit of extra attention you'll possess glowing skin by your walk down the aisle.
