Formal updos aren't your thing? Then skip 'em! There's no law that says you have to wear your hair up for your wedding. In fact, hairstylist and DryBar founder Alli Webb says wedding hair shouldn't feel any less comfortable than your hair on a really great night out. Here, the best ways to let your hair down for the big day.

Loose Curls (above): They'll likely fall a bit during the day, so consider going a little tighter than you otherwise might — in an hour or two they'll be exactly where you want them! For a romantic look, twist away from your face, holding a 1-inch curling iron at an angle. Finish with flexible hold hairspray for a look similar to Jamie Chung's pictured above.

Big and Voluminous: For max volume (and no greasy roots) à la Jennifer Lopez, start with clean hair. Prep with a heat-protecting cream, then apply volumizing mousse from the mid-shaft to the ends of your hair. Using a round brush, blow-dry one to two-inch sections horizontally, away from your head (this creates extra volume at the root). To lock in volume at your crown, try leaving the brush in the top of your hair for a few minutes after you dry it. (It will basically act like a hot roller to add lift.) Go over any frizzy sections lightly with a curling iron, then finish with flexible hold hairspray, like L'Oreal Elnett.

Straight and Sleek: Channel Kendall Jenner's cool look by prepping with heat protectant — Alli loves DryBar's Hot Toddy Heat Protector and smoothing cream. Blow-dry your hair section-by-section, using a large round brush, and holding it with lots of tension to keep the ends extra-straight. Then, go over each section with a flat-iron, pulling it through all the way to the ends. Seal your ends and add shine with treatment oil.

Beachy Waves: For casual, rumpled waves like Gisele Bündchen, prep with volumizing mousse, like John Frieda Luxurious Volume Thickening Mousse. Then, blow-dry sections away from your face. For longer hair, use a large round brush, and for shorter hair, use a small or medium-sized round brush. Start drying from the front and sides, keeping the brush vertical, and work your way towards the back. Then add in the waves with a curling iron by holding the iron vertically and twisting away from your face, holding for a few seconds. Finish by mixing pomade and hairspray in your hands, then twisting strands of your hair to add shine and hold.
