It's no secret that Ryan Reynolds adores his three-month-old daughter, James. But the actor recently opened up to People about just how joyous her birth was for him — and you should be prepared with tissues, too.
The last time he cried, the Woman in Gold star told People, was when "my baby [was] being born. I was inconsolable. I was moved to instant sprinkler head."
The first-time dad went into greater detail during a recent appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, describing just how much he loves his wife, Blake Lively, and their baby girl. "I used to say to [Blake], 'I would take a bullet for you. I could never love anything as much as I love you.' I would say that to my wife," he said. "And the second I looked in that baby's eyes, I knew in that exact moment that if we were ever under attack, I would use my wife as a human shield to protect that baby."

Don't be fooled, though — the 38-year-old actor still adores his wife. He admitted to People that Lively had called him "sexy" on a recent morning. "I left the house a little taller," he said.
It wasn't until mid-February that the couple released to the media their baby's name. Until then, rumors flew around that the girl's name was Violet, despite Reynolds adamantly denying it. In fact, for many months, there was speculation over the baby's sex because of how quiet the couple kept her birth.
