Nicole Miller is a classic name in the world of bridal, and the designer has become known for chic wedding gowns in refined silhouettes. Miller has serious training, with a degree from the Rhode Island School of Design and couture training from l'École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris, and her background shows through the construction of her collection, which is beloved by celebrities from Jennifer Aniston and Beyoncé to Blake Lively and Angelina Jolie. We sat down with the designer ahead of the debut of her next bridal collection to learn about her inspiration process, her perspective on bridal style, and her top tips for brides about looking effortlessly beautiful.
For Miller, brides should always feel free and natural.
"My bridal collection has always been about elegant, sophisticated styles that flatter a woman's body while remaining comfortable. Modern brides don't want to feel restricted on their wedding day, so I avoid anything that's frou-frou and keep the details simple and sleek." In terms of her favorite silhouette? "I think strapless is always good and very flattering fitted to the hips and flared."
Miller's bridal collections are all about comfort.
When asked about her inspiration and process for each new season, the designer explained, "Quite often I am asked to design custom bridal dresses, so each new collection is usually inspired by these experiences." Miller continued, "My favorite part of designing for brides is creating something that will make the bride feel confident on her big day. So it is very important that the dress is comfortable and fits well. I don't like anything too cumbersome."

Miller prefers classic and understated bridal trends.
We asked Nicole Miller about her take on bridal trends, and she explained, "Open backs are a great trend for bridal because they complement a toned figure. Lace is another favorite trend because it adds unique detailing while remaining chic and understated." In line with her focus on simplicity, "I don't like things that are too poufy or too glitzy."
Nicole Miller's top tips for brides: Simplicity is key and rock flowers.
"Keep it simple — wear a great pair of earrings or a necklace, but don't wear both. Or, if you want to wear both, choose tiny earrings to pair with your necklace. I also love fresh flowers in the hair — it's always a nice touch."
Bonus: Miller shared an exclusive sketch from her upcoming collection, which is debuting next week at Bridal Fashion Week!
