The girls in the J.Crew catalog always have the most perfect-looking, we-woke-up-like-this skin — exactly what you want for for your wedding day. We asked J.Crew's longtime makeup artist, Troi Ollivierre, exactly how he achieves those glowing, fresh-faced complexions.
1. Prep with primer.
It helps your makeup go on more smoothly, making it last longer and appear more natural. Ollivierre likes Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, $33, which has formulas for both dry and oily skin.
2. Mix your moisturizer with your liquid foundation.
The lotion dilutes the foundation to create a light, dewy finish. Try Cover Fx Custom Cover Drops, $44, a pigment that can be blended with your favorite moisturizer for sheer, natural-looking coverage.

3. Work with a variety of tools.
Ollivierre first uses makeup sponges and brushes to paint foundation over the whole face, then uses his fingers to finesse and pat down smaller areas, like the creases around the nose.
4. Amp up the glow.
Create a natural-looking flush by rubbing cream blush on the apples of your cheeks, then smoothing cream highlighter along your cheekbones. Ollivierre uses Stila Convertible Color Blush, $25, and RMS Beauty Living Luminizer, $38, on the models.

5. Set with powder if you have oily or combination skin.
But don't go crazy — you still want your face to look dewy, not totally matte. Use a product with fine particles, like Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder, $34, and dust it just on the T-zone. If you get shiny during the day, touch up with blotting sheets. We love Tatcha Aburatorigami Beauty Papers, $12, which absorb oil without taking off your makeup.
6. Finish with setting spray.
It will help your makeup last the entire day. Ollivierre loves Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Last Makeup Setting Spray, $30. It works like a charm — even in hot, humid climates.
