Jill Duggar finally gave birth to her son, Israel David Dillard, late on April 6, but the new mom and her husband of just under a year, Derick Dillard, are already showing their first baby off to the world. Less than 24 hours after welcoming "Baby Dilly," the parents shared a video of their family and dished on the nearly two-week late birth.
Yesterday the parents posted a brief, 48-second-long video (below) to their blog that gave one of the first clear glimpses of Israel. "We're so excited to announce the birth of our son, Israel David Dillard," Jill says in the clip. She then gives fans of the popular show, 19 Kids and Counting the news they've been hoping for. "He's just a handsome little fell and we'd like everybody to stay tuned to TLC, May 5, they're going to be showing the birth episode as well as things surrounding that."
Jill also shares that "things didn't go exactly as planned" but doesn't further elaborate on what sounds like a tricky delivery. However it happened, the pair seems to be ecstatic that their son is finally here. Both Jill and Derick posted photos of Israel to their Instagram accounts, sharing captions like, "It's so surreal to think we have a sun! I love him so much! #babydilly #israeldaviddillard" and "He's a beautiful baby boy! Israel David Dillard, born last night at 11:49 pm!"
As for their sons unique name, the couple has yet to comment, but People has speculated the choice stems from the Duggar family trip to Israel back in 2011. In their very first family photo Derick is even sporting an "Israel Defense Forces" T-shirt while their son dons an embroidered onsie with his new name.
