Date night, Clooney style. George and Amal are living it up in New York City as she begins her new role as a visiting law professor at Columbia University, and they look every bit the chic, uptown couple we'd expect.
The newlyweds were spotted leaving Mario Batali's hotspot Babbo on Friday night after a romantic meal. True to her sophisticated ways, Mrs. Clooney wore an outfit we'd kill to have in our closet — a full-on Giambattista Valli ensemble, consisting of a super-short LBD with an embroidered hem, paired with a white bolero and black heels. Along with her bold red lip and picture-perfect blowout, we'd say this is the ideal date-night outfit.

Though we're sure they had a delicious, intimate dinner, there's another reason the duo was all smiles. The Telegraph reported today that the mayor of Laglio, Italy, the small Lake Como-area town where George has his famed villa, just issued an ordinance warning visitors that they will face a €500 (approximately $550) if they come within 100 meters of either of the actor's two villas.
That's right: Not only does he own more than one gorgeous lakefront estate; now, mere mortals have no chance of going remotely close to it, lest they disrupt the peace.
Things have certainly been on the up and up for the Clooneys since they tied the knot in Venice, Italy, in September. If it weren't for Amal's new job, we'd assume the extra privacy was a prelude to a baby! For now, we'll just have to wait and see (and gawk at her outfits).
