An eager dad-to-be Derick Dillard on Friday announced his wife, Jill Duggar, was in labor, but Us Weekly reports Dillard jumped the gun, and Duggar was likely just experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions. So, the 19 Kinds and Counting star is still pregnant — and now nearly two weeks past her March 24 due date!
Before he took to Twitter to let fans know his wife was not, in fact, in labor, the 26-year-old husband shared the false-alarm news in a long blog entry, which he posted on Good Friday. In the blog post, titled "Jill's Labor and My Understanding of the Bible," he wrote, "My wife, Jill, is beginning to have contractions which means that the birth of our son is near. ... I can't even describe right now the anticipation I am feeling, as I am about to get to meet my firstborn son for the first time face to face. So many people have already testified that nothing can quite describe that moment and that I'll just have to experience it for myself. When I look around, I can see new life everywhere. The trees are budding, which means summer is near."

Dillard continued to describe his wife's false labor in great detail: "From what I've learned in birth class (as well as from Jill, who is a student midwife) and from what I am witnessing right now with Jill, labor pains start sporadically and then become more consistent, longer lasting, and stronger the closer we get to the birth of our son. Again, it's important to remember that we don't know when he will be born, but we can definitely see the evidence that points to his imminent arrival, whenever that might be."
For her part, 23-year-old Duggar has taken the late arrival of her first child, nicknamed Baby Dilly, in stride. She recently told People, "I have told myself, 'First-time moms often go a week and a half over, so don't get discouraged.' When everyone else is asking you, 'When are you going to have that baby?' The baby will come when the baby comes."
In the meantime, they'll do what they can to hurry him along. The couple recently went out for Mexican food, and Duggar snapped a selfie for Instragram with the caption, "Out to lunch...maybe this spicy Mexican food will make the baby come! Only Braxton Hicks contractions with this weather so far. We shall see what the weekend brings!"
