As one of the most iconic and traditional elements of a bride's outfit, the wedding veil holds a considerable amount of importance. It's also an incredibly beautiful complement to a wedding dress! As many brides choose flower crowns or headpieces over veils, we wanted to see how real women incorporated the classic headwear into their ensembles. We asked our Facebook followers to share photos of their veils, and as hard as it was to pick our favorites, we selected four major standouts.

1. Long, lace-trimmed, and lovely.
For a formal wedding, a cathedral-length veil is almost always the way to go! Bride Ashley Farney Frisa, who shared this beautiful picture, wisely paired this style with her strapless, lace wedding dress. The trimming on the veil is the perfect match.

2. A beautiful birdcage.
The biggest advantage of a birdcage veil is how well it accommodates a variety of hairstyles, like buns and braids. Bride Jessica Hannah's cute bodice and unique 'do make it the logical choice for a more retro style, and its unobtrusive shape makes it incredibly low-maintenance.

3. Simple and sweet.
Veils invariably make a dramatic statement, and this photo, shared by bride Kendra Marie Sakoian, is as compelling of a reason as any to consider wearing one!

4. Tiers of joy.
Bride Brittney Crumpton Harp clearly gave her guests something to gawk at as she walked down the aisle during her ceremony. We love the elegant tiers in the veil that give its full length extra oomph.
