Molly Guy launched Stone Fox Bride in 2010, a year after her own engagement, as a response to her own search for a wedding dress; an experience she found disenchanting. One year later, Stone Fox Bride opened its doors in New York City as an alternative bridal salon, imagined as a "mellow, easygoing sanctuary full of laid back, high-fashion dresses" perfect for brides who want to channel their own personal style on their big day.
We sat down with Guy to learn more about the Honor x Stone Fox Bride collection, her take on bridal trends, and her top style tips for brides on their wedding day.
Guy has been waiting a long time to work with Honor.
"I've been a huge fan of Honor for years — I am friends with the designer and owner Giovanna Randall and with the chief creative officer Rachel Fleit," Guy explains. "I really believe in their mystical, ethereal, darkly romantic vibe, and have been chomping at the bit to collaborate with them for a long time. The goal was to create a slightly more structured, more formidable collection that felt at home in the Stone Fox Bride showroom, but also starkly different that anything we had ever carried before. The response to the collection has been mind-blowing!"
Not surprisingly, Guy prefers not to follow the trends.
"I gravitate towards gowns that are chic and timeless without being constraining or stuffy," Guy says. "I love soft Chantilly laces, sleeves, low backs and long hemlines. Versatile, second-skin dresses that can be worn black-tie style, with silver Louboutins and loose hair, or barefoot on the beach with a soft bouquet of roses and ranunculus, and a wind-swept side braid."

Stone Fox Bride's amazing Instagram feed was something that happened organically.
When asked about Stone Fox Bride's popular engagement ring Instagram posts, Guy explains, "I love stories — whether it's about a ring, a cat, a hat — I always just want to know the narrative behind an accessory that people wear everyday, and are fiercely loyal to. I always asked my friends the stories behind their rings — and when Instagram launched I just starting posting them! I had no idea anyone else would care but me."
Her top three style tips for brides boil down to just being yourself.
"Look as much as like yourself as possible," say the creative director. "Most likely your partner fell in love with you when your face was bare of makeup and you were super present and un-self-aware. The goal is to be the most radiant, healthy, happy version of the person you look like everyday. Don't follow trends, your mother-in-law suggestions, or what your friends think is cool. Listen to your own voice. And remember to eat breakfast, have a little exercise and meditation and some solo time the morning before your wedding. You want to be able to weather the adventure you're about to embark on from a place of serenity and grace."
