Though Kaitlin Powers and Clint Siegfried have known each other for years, it wasn't until a group ski trip to Vail in 2011 that sparks flew. "We started dating the week we got back," says Kaitlin. When Clint popped the question a year and a half later on Mattituck Beach in Nantucket, the pair knew that a seaside celebration was in the cards. "We both spent summers in Southampton growing up," says Kaitlin, "and wanted to get married somewhere that spoke to us and our families."
They decided to say "I do" on September 14, 2013 at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Southampton, New York, then hosted an elegant '20s-inspired reception for 230 guests on the lawn at the Bridgehampton Club, planned by Claire Bean Events. "The love was palpable," says Kaitlin. "It was amazing!"

Kaitlin ended up choosing the first wedding dress she tried on, an Alençon lace fit-and-flare design with a keyhole back by Monique Lhuillier that she topped with a tulle overskirt.

The bride kept her accessories simple, wearing a lace-edged veil and white satin Jimmy Choo pumps. That sparkling clutch? "I bought it from a street vendor on New York's Upper East Side!" Kaitlin laughs.
Clint's Tiffany & Co. wedding band was engraved with the couple's initials and wedding date.
Kaitlin's bridesmaids wore green dupioni silk dresses by Alfred Sung, paired with gold snakeskin-embossed stilettos.

A classic look called for a classic bouquet. Kaitlin's was white and soft green, featuring garden roses, hydrangeas, and hypernicum berries.
The flower girl and ring bearer both wore white, with soft green accents. "When the flower girl got to the end of the aisle with petals left in her basket, she tried to give a handful of them to the groom," says Kaitlin. "Clint was getting a little nervous and emotional, so she definitely helped lighten the mood!"

The ceremony was traditionally Catholic. "The church is one of the most beautiful ones I've ever seen, so it didn't require much decoration," says the bride. The couple added a white aisle runner with their monogram in gold.

After the ceremony, the wedding party headed to the nearby beach for photos.

Guests sipped the couple's signature "Southside" (gin, mint, and lime juice) and indulged in a bacon station (Clint's personal request!) during cocktail hour. Kaitlin removed the tulle overskirt of her dress for a sleeker evening look. "I loved being able to customize the dress and really make it mine," she says.

Escort cards were displayed by the entrance to the clubhouse, on a table decorated with hydrangeas and white and green tulips.

The reception took place in a dramatic wood-floored tent pitched on the club's croquet court. "We wanted it to feel elegant and magical, with a rustic twist on a Gatsby theme." Neutral linens were dressed up with gold-edged chargers, mercury glass vases, and lush white and green arrangements of roses and hydrangeas.
"The food was amazing," says Kaitlin. Guests chose between Chilean sea bass and filet mignon, getting up to dance between courses.

One reason to get off the dance floor? The couple's crème fraîche and French vanilla wedding cake, topped with fresh hydrangeas. But the second they were done eating, everyone was back to boogieing. "The band was fantastic," the bride says. "My brothers were having crazy dance-offs all night!"
The next morning, Clint and Kaitlin took off for their honeymoon in Hualalai, Hawaii. "I'm so glad we were able to get a few moments alone during our wedding," says Kaitlin, "but it was great to go straight to our honeymoon and to be able to enjoy those first days of marriage!"
