If it's girlie you want, then girlie you'll get from Oscar de la Renta's Fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection. Showing in New York yesterday, de la Renta highlighted the frillier, flirtier, fancier side of his ageless muse, swathing her in richly saturated tones, frothy tulle ball gowns, pastel-perfect pinks and blues, and accents of oversize, dangling jewels. To wear any gown from the collection would be a princess fantasy come true—but to wear one as a wedding gown, well, that doesn't require a crown. (Although a tiara might be an appropriate touch.)

The skirt-and-lace-top combo from the designer's last bridal collection made a second appearance on the runway, this time fused into a drop-waisted, dusty olive gown (bottom left) with an on-trend high neck. The biggest, boldest bridal impact, however, came as an explosion of blush tulle, topped by a collarbone baring, off-the-shoulder neckline (top right). Something about the gown felt strangely familiar, and then we remembered this.
