When Ashlee Simpson married Evan Ross last Sunday at the groom's family estate in Greenwich, Connecticut, the boho bride wore not one, but two custom looks from Houghton Bride.
Earlier this week, we caught a glimpse of Ashlee's two-piece, crop-top wedding look (complete with a high-low hemline and custom beaded pearl details!), seen in the sketch below, but the bride did a surprising quick change for her reception. Instead of slipping into another skirt or dress, Ashlee opted for a pair of ivory sequin "Faye" wide-leg trousers and a matching "Nadja" crop top.
"Ashlee is the quintessential Houghton bride," the fashion house's designer Katharine Polk exclusively tells Brides. "The Houghton collection is inspired by Katharine Hepburn and Ashlee's reception look has elements of the icon's timeless yet modern style."
Evan also swapped his ceremony ensemble (a velvet tux) for a custom Houghton look: a suit, made of ivory silk and burnout velvet, which featured a tailored smoking jacket, cuffed harem trousers, an ivory silk georgette shirt with oversized cuffs, and a loose necktie. The pair's reception looks can be seen in the above sketch.

"This has been such a fun experience," the designer says of working with the newlyweds. "Ashlee and Evan are the epitome of a Houghton Couple. I love that they are involved with each other's look and I've been able to work so closely with them to make sure every look exudes their personal style."
We love that the newlyweds weren't afraid to push style boundaries — even on their wedding day!
