Though Kaitlin Powers and Clint Siegfried have known each other for years, it wasn't until a group ski trip to Vail in 2011 that sparks flew. And when Clint popped the question a year and a half later in Nantucket, the pair knew that a seaside celebration was in the cards. "We both spent summers in Southampton growing up," says Kaitlin, "and loved getting married somewhere with such personal significance."
They said "I do" at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, then hosted an elegant '20s-inspired reception on the lawn at the Bridgehampton Club. "The love was palpable," says Kaitlin. "It was amazing!"

Spend a moment alone.
While she was getting ready the morning of the wedding, Kaitlin took some quiet time for herself to relax and prepare for the day ahead.
Consider a dress with options.
Kaitlin's Monique Lhuillier gown featured a lace fit-and-flare silhouette that she personalized with a tulle overskirt for the reception. Then, when it was time to party, she revealed the sleeker shape and highlighted her waist with a jeweled belt.
Not sure about kids? Go for it!
Instead of causing stress, having a flower girl and ring bearers provided some much-needed comic relief during the ceremony. "Clint was getting nervous at the end of the aisle," says Kaitlin. "When our flower girl got there and realized she had petals left, she grabbed a handful and tried to give them to him! It definitely helped him relax and put a smile on his face."
Make use of family heirlooms.
Kaitlin is the third bride in her family to wear the diamond in her engagement ring. "My grandmother gave it to my dad when he proposed to my mom, and she gave it to Clint to use when he had a ring designed for me."
Indulge your cravings.
"Clint loves everything and anything bacon," says Kaitlin, "so we included a bacon station during cocktail hour." Guests nibbled on mini BLTs and bacon mac and cheese as they sipped gin and mint Southsides.
