Making even a great marriage work takes time and commitment, and no one seems to know that more clearly than Nicole Richie. Though she's been happily married to Joel Madden for over three years, the star was refreshingly candid with Oprah Winfrey in an interview, in which she discussed the ups and downs of married life.
During a recent episode of Oprah: Where Are They Now?, Richie talked about everything from marriage to being a mother. She even dished on her early fears about creating a family and the most difficult aspects of making a marriage work between her and her Good Charlotte rocker husband. Her biggest fear? We both have had ups and downs with our parents and don't really have a strong example of what a healthy family life is. But we're recognizing that now, so let's work at it and let's go through this together as a team,'" Richie told Oprah. "It's been great. And I would say that's the easiest and hardest part."
And though she had qualms about whether or not she and Madden could manage a healthy family life, it seems they have that completely under control. From raising their two kids, Harlow, age 6, and Sparrow, age 4, to spending time with their parents and siblings, these two have created one truly happy family.
