If you're looking for a unique wedding-centerpiece idea, consider a terrarium. These beautiful glass-enclosed arrangements are a huge wedding trend right and are a great way to bring nature and the outdoors inside as a part of your reception décor. You can work with your florist to create the perfect terrarium or, if you're up for it, tackle them on your own as a DIY project.

Whatever you decide, you'll need to start with the container, first. Scour vintage shops and thrift stores for the prettiest glass vessels, but you can also source great ones at craft stores and big-box shops like Target. Then, fill them with moss, ferns, succulents, flowers, tiny figurines — whatever you like that complements your wedding look and theme. Below are some of our favorite wedding terrarium ideas for inspiration.

Square Terrarium Centerpiece (above): A modern square-shaped terrarium is filled with flowers and greenery in shades of cream, dove grey, and coral.

DIY Terrarium Centerpieces: This creative couple enlisted friends and family members to help make their wedding centerpieces. Then, at the reception, guests were invited to vote for their favorite design (with prizes for the winners!).

Prism Terrarium Centerpiece: This eye-catching prism-shaped vessel contains an arrangement of flowers, succulents, and fresh greenery.

Tiny Treasure-Box Terrariums: This bride, who collects delicate glass treasure boxes, decided to use them as terrariums for the reception-table centerpieces. All of them were vintage or thrift-store finds, except for the one above right, which was from Urban Outfitters.

Mini Terrarium Escort Cards: Tiny little terrariums directed guests to their assigned reception table.

Terrarium Place Cards: Another idea would be to create individual terrariums and display them at each guest's place setting.
