Leave it to Kate Hudson to mix up her beauty look when we least expect it. The actress, who's known for her her beachy curls and natural makeup choices, totally transformed her look at the New York City premiere of her new film Wish I Was Here. Kate's dark, wine-red lip and sleek straight hair would look amazing paired with a slinky sheath wedding dress and killer stilettos at a modern, city-chic wedding. Here's how to steal her style:

Vampy Lips: Kate proves you don't have to wait until the leaves start changing to wear a deep, wine-colored lip. In fact, it looks extra-flattering against her summer-bronzed skin. Proceed with caution, though — the deeper the lipcolor, the more careful you have to be when applying it! Start by filling in your lips completely with a matching lip pencil, then, using a lip brush for precision, carefully go over your handiwork with a matte lipstick. To catch the light like Kate, you can dab slightly lighter satin-finish lipstick in the center of your bottom lip.

Wide-open eyes: Kate keeps her look from edging into Addams Family territory by sweeping bright, champagne-colored metallic shadow all the way up to her brow bone, then adding major volume with falsies. Finish with a dash of liner on your top lid, and you've got bedroom eyes without the risk of dark shadow creeping down your lids on your wedding day.
Buy it: Jane Iredale Purepressed Eye Shadow in Champagne, $15, available at Amazon; Ardell Fashion Lashes, $14, available at Amazon

Sleek, straight hair: To get her 'do, start by prepping your hair with a straightening cream, then blow-drying your hair straight and flat-ironing it. Add a tiny bit of sculpting cream or gel for her slick, wet-look style.
Buy it: Drybar Cream Soda Smoothing Cream, $27, available at Sephora; Fekkai Sheer Sculp Styling Gel, $20, available at Ulta
