Just like everything else surrounding Jessica Simpson's wedding, the bride's big-day manicure was "extra special," according to People .

Obviously, she couldn't just rock on any old color, which celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik clearly understood. "When I created the color, I was actually custom-matching [it] to the dress," Bachik tells People. "We wanted it to be in the same vein of the dress without being too matchy-matchy. Jess picked the final color, and I kept going back to [stylist/bridesmaid] Nicole [Chavez] and asking, 'Lighter or darker?' and she said, 'Lets keep it lighter, fun and fresh.'"

Surprisingly, the final color wasn't decided on until the very last minute. "I probably went back and forth like 20 times that morning to look at the dress in the bedroom and match the color," Bachik adds.

The end product was a mixture of four different custom gels with layers of taupe, tan and a hint of shimmer. "The process started with a base color. Originally, I went a little more taupe and cool in tone and then as we played with it it didn't feel romantic and warm enough. So I added a different tan, I warmed up the color and then lightened it up quite a bit to pick up the highlights in the dress. I finished it off with a custom blend of pearlescent gold shimmer that gave it a champagne luminosity and some depth and sparkle," says Bachik.

Sounds like the perfect match for her champagne-and-gold multi-layer tulle Caroline Herrera gown.

Her 12 bridesmaids and two maids of honor (sister Ashlee and mother Tina) donned coordinating nude manis and pedis. And each member of the bridal party was given their very own shade to complement their mismatched gowns.

It's safe to say no detail was overlooked when it came to the Simpson-Johnson nuptials!
