Want to know the secret to nailing a flawless wedding day beauty look? Taking proper care of your skin well before you walk down the aisle. But just like there's not one perfect wedding dress style for all brides, you must find a skin care-routine that matches your specific needs. This week, we're tackling tricky oily skin. (Brides-to-be with dry and combination skin, stay tuned!)
New York City-based dermatologist Dr. Debra Jaliman gave us the scoop on taming an oily complexion. Follow her targeted plan for gorgeous skin on your wedding day and beyond!
Your Daily Regimen
Along with an exfoliating cleanser, Dr. Jaliman recommends using toner in the morning and night. In hot weather, swap out your moisturizer for an oil-free SPF 30-sunscreen — you'll protect your skin from harmful rays without doing more damage to your pore. Pick products with salicylic acid as the first ingredient to cut through the excess oils.

Your Beauty Diet
With oily skin, what you don't eat is just as important as what you do. "If you have acne, dairy and sugar can make it worse," says Dr. Jaliman. Fill you cart with zinc-rich spinach, and oysters to keep your hormones on an even keel. This will help keep wedding-day breakouts at bay.
Your Power Product
No matter how vigilant you are with your skincare regimen, breakouts will inevitably happen. To combat blemishes before you walk down the aisle, get your skin extra clean with a clay mask, which pulls excess oils from the pores Try a mask with a mix of acne-fighting-acids (yes, you guessed it: salicylic acid) and oil-absorbing charcoal or rice protein, which will stomp out any shininess.
